The Sydney Festival begins this Friday, 5th January 2024 and runs until 28th January 2024. There are scheduled to be over 130 events across the 24 days. Some are free and some are not free.

The BANANALAND musical theatre performance starts even before the festival officially begins on 3rd January at Riverside Theatre in Parramatta. For the inner city types who have never ventured this far west except for passing through on the way to the Blue Mountains, Parramatta is now an impressive, modern, relatively safe city in its own right with a whole load of restaurants that line Church Street, the main road you have to walk down to reach the theatre from the train station about 1km away - an easy 15 minute walk.



Tickets to see Bananaland range from $69 to $119 plus booking fee. It is recommended for ages 15+ although the scene shown to media had a similar vibe to a performance by The Wiggles.

Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall are two of the key creatives behind the show.
